1. Purpose of This Policy
This Refund Policy explains the general framework for handling donation refund requests submitted in connection with Global Relief Unity.
The availability of a refund may depend on the nature of the transaction, the payment method, the applicable campaign circumstances, the payment provider and applicable legal requirements.
This policy should be read together with the platform's Terms & Conditions , Donation Policy and Privacy Policy .
2. General Refund Principles
Donations are generally intended to provide support for the purpose described by the relevant campaign.
A donation should therefore be made only after the donor has reviewed the available campaign information and confirmed the payment details.
A refund is not automatically available merely because a donor later changes their mind. However, refund requests may be considered where circumstances, applicable policy, payment arrangements or legal requirements provide a basis for doing so.
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
3. Mistaken Donations
If you believe that you entered an incorrect donation amount or otherwise made a donation in error, please contact Global Relief Unity as soon as reasonably possible.
The request may be reviewed using the available transaction information.
Where a payment has already been settled, transferred or otherwise processed, the ability to reverse or refund the transaction may depend on the payment method and applicable processing arrangements.
4. Duplicate Transactions
If you believe that the same donation was submitted or charged more than once, please contact support with the relevant transaction details.
Duplicate transaction claims may be checked against available donation and payment records.
If a duplicate payment is confirmed, the handling of the additional transaction will depend on the applicable payment arrangement and refund process.
5. Unauthorised Transactions
If you believe that a donation or payment was made without your authorisation, contact the relevant payment provider or financial institution promptly and also contact Global Relief Unity where appropriate.
Information relating to an alleged unauthorised transaction may be reviewed as part of the applicable investigation or support process.
Donors should never share banking passwords, PINs, one-time passwords, authentication codes or other confidential security credentials with anyone claiming to process a refund.
6. Campaign Changes or Closure
A campaign may be updated, paused, completed, restricted or removed after a donation has been made.
Changes to a campaign do not automatically mean that every previous donation will be refunded.
Where a material campaign change creates a refund-related issue, the circumstances may be reviewed according to the applicable donation terms, operational process and legal requirements.
7. Transaction Verification
A refund request may require verification of the relevant donation or transaction.
Information used for verification may include the campaign reference, transaction reference, donation amount, date of transaction and other relevant information that the donor is authorised to provide.
Additional information may be requested where reasonably necessary to review the request.
8. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund or raise a transaction concern, contact Global Relief Unity through the Contact Us page.
Please provide enough information to help identify the relevant transaction, such as:
- Donor name
- Email address or phone number used during the donation process
- Campaign reference or campaign name
- Donation amount
- Transaction date or reference, where available
- Reason for the refund request
Donors should not send passwords, PINs, authentication codes or unrelated confidential financial credentials when submitting a refund request.
9. Refund Review & Processing
Refund requests may be reviewed before a decision or processing action is taken.
Processing time may vary depending on the transaction, payment method, verification requirements and any third-party payment provider involved.
A request being submitted does not by itself guarantee that a refund will be approved.
Where a refund is approved, the method and timing of the refund may depend on the original payment arrangement.
10. Payment Providers
Some transactions may involve third-party payment services or financial institutions.
Where applicable, refund processing may be subject to the procedures, technical capabilities and requirements of the relevant payment provider.
Global Relief Unity cannot guarantee the processing timelines of an independent payment provider or financial institution.
11. Refund Policy Limitations
This policy provides a general framework and does not create a universal entitlement to a refund in every situation.
Specific refund rights may depend on applicable law, the nature of the transaction, payment method, campaign circumstances and other relevant factors.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude any consumer, donor or other legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Contact
For refund questions or transaction-related concerns, please contact Global Relief Unity through the Contact Us page.
Providing accurate transaction information can help the support team review the request more efficiently.
This page is a refund policy draft and should be reviewed and finalised according to the organisation's actual legal structure, applicable jurisdiction, consumer and donation requirements, payment-provider arrangements and operational refund process before production launch.
